Eggshell Carving

“Look! My autograph is carved right onto this raw eggshell!” Xiao Wang exclaimed excitedly to the reporter.

At the first China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), the booth beside the Tendo Robot EVO7 drew an enthusiastic crowd, with a long queue of eager spectators forming.

A raw eggshell is merely 0.3 to 0.4 millimeters thick. Carving intricate characters and patterns onto its surface while keeping the shell fully intact was once a rare “master skill” reserved only for the most accomplished artisans. Thanks to its technological strengths in high precision and high responsiveness, the Tendo robot can effortlessly achieve this extraordinary art of “eggshell carving.”

The World’s First Expo Themed Around Supply Chains

From November 28 to December 2, the inaugural China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) was held in Beijing. As the world’s first exhibition themed specifically around supply chains, CISCE aims to foster global cooperation across industrial and supply chains and promote the healthy advancement of economic globalization.

As an indispensable link in intelligent manufacturing and green production, robotics took center stage. Everwin Precision, in partnership with Tendo, made a stunning appearance at the Apple Exhibition Area (Digital Technology Chain Booth E3-A02) , showcasing Tendo’s premier products, including collaborative robots and industrial six-axis robots.

Behind the Perfect Fusion of Art and Technology

Eggshell carving is art; robotic execution is technology. Behind the seamless convergence of the two lies craftsmanship.

How does a robot internalize the experiential “feel” of an egg-carving master, autonomously adapt to varying conditions, and develop its own “muscle memory”? The Tendo Fusion control system integrates the craftsmanship directly into the description of the robot’s motion process, while simultaneously providing the relevant parameters to the customer, empowering them to control the process. Tendo’s Fusion control system is the industry’s first control system designed specifically for process-oriented programming. By configuring built-in parameters such as polishing pressure, operating speed, acceleration, and current, it digitizes the entire craftsmanship workflow.

In new application scenarios, the Fusion control system drastically reduces the customer’s exploration costs, allowing the robot to directly inherit previously accumulated process data. When exploring new processes, it liberates the user’s focus and energy from complex system design. Instead, their efforts can be redirected toward understanding the craft and designing process control strategies, enabling the systematic and efficient delivery of solutions.

It is reported that this technology is already being utilized in the production of the Mac Pro.
